Blessed Carlo Acutis was an Italian teenager who was beatified on October 10, 2020, in Assisi, Italy . He was born in London in 1991 and moved to Milan a few months later . Carlo was diagnosed with leukemia as a teenager and offered his sufferings for Pope Benedict XVI and the Church . He died on October 12, 2006, and was buried in Assisi because of his love for St. Francis of Assisi . His cause for canonization began in 2013, and he was declared “Venerable” in 2018 . Carlo had a special love for God from a young age, even though his parents weren’t especially devout . He loved to pray the rosary and went to Mass as often as he could, making Holy Hours before and after Mass . Carlo’s devotion to the Blessed Sacrament was remarkable, and he used to say, “There are queues in front of a concert, in front of a football match, but I don’t see these queues in front of the Blessed Sacrament” . Carlo Acutis was a gamer, a programmer, a soccer fan, a Eucharistic devotee, and a saint who offered his sufferings for the Church and Pope Benedict XVI .
St Rose of Lima Parish is now the home of a first-class relic of Blessed Carlo Acutis. We would like to invite you to visit our church to venerate the relic.
The Blessed Carlo Acutis Apostolate is a diocesan youth outreach program in Salt Lake City, Utah, inspired by the life and work of Blessed Carlo Acutis. The apostolate aims to help young people experience and love Christ through the Eucharist. This outreach program organizes mini-rallies in different parishes, where the youth can participate in Mass, adoration, presentation, music, and inspirational talks. We are excited to announce that there is a permanent place for the exposition of the first-class relic of Blessed Carlo Acutis at St. Rose of Lima Parish. We also have plans to expand to other inspirational teen saints.
